HO Scale brass train set from Eagle Imports, catalog number EI-101, manufactured in Korea by Ajin. Limited production of only 90 sets produced. Features the complete Chicago Burlington & Quincy / Fort Worth & Denver Sam Houston Zephyr as it appeared from January 13, 1945 into the mid-1950s.
This historically accurate train set represents the Sam Houston Zephyr that operated morning service from Houston to Dallas, then to Fort Worth. Eagle Imports used specially designed dies to press corrugations, marking the first time a corrugated train was simulated in the same manner as the prototype, with exceptional results.
The set includes EMD E-5 diesel locomotive #9909 "SILVER BULLET" (originally served on Silver Streak Zephyr in 1940), Baggage #900 "SILVER LIGHT", Coach-Buffet #303 "SILVER BRONCO", Chair Car #304 "SILVER SPUR", Parlor Car #301 "SILVER SADDLE", and Diner-Observation #302 "SILVER HOURS". Each car features authentic Burlington Route stainless steel fluted sides with the revolutionary corrugation technique that made this set legendary among brass collectors.
