LOT 547 - OVERLAND MODELS OMI-5345 HO BRASS COLORADO & SOUTHERN E2B DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE (1938 ORIGINAL)
Description

HO Scale brass E2B diesel booster unit from Overland Models, representing a Colorado & Southern Railway prototype from 1938. Overland Models (OMI) is recognized as one of the premier manufacturers of brass locomotives, known for exceptional mechanical quality, smooth operation, and meticulous prototype accuracy.

The E2B was a cabless booster unit designed to work in conjunction with E2A cab units, providing additional horsepower for passenger train operations. The Colorado & Southern, a Burlington Route subsidiary operating in Colorado and Wyoming, acquired these early EMD E-units to modernize their passenger service in the late 1930s. These locomotives represented cutting-edge technology for mountain passenger operations, replacing steam power on routes connecting Denver with mountain communities.

This model represents the original 1938 configuration, capturing the early diesel era when railroads first embraced streamlined passenger power. Overland Models' E-units are highly regarded for their smooth-running mechanisms, fine detail work, and accurate proportions.
