Smith & Wesson Model 24-3 "1950 Target" double action revolver, .44 S&W Special, 6.5" barrel, blued finish. Limited production reintroduction manufactured 1983–1984, one of approximately 4,875 produced in the 6.5" barrel configuration. ABZ serial prefix consistent with 1983–1984 factory shipment. Fully engraved overall in professional American scroll with full coverage — engraver not documented. Custom finger-groove rosewood grips with S&W medallion. Bluing retains excellent depth and polish with minimal handling wear. Target hammer, target trigger. Original factory box included. The Model 24-3 was a short-lived, collector-driven reintroduction of the beloved Model 1950 Target in .44 Special — a cartridge championed by the late Skeeter Skelton and Elmer Keith. Clean examples with original boxes are increasingly difficult to find; engraved examples rarer still.
