Pair of Chinese pottery guardian or warrior figures, each modeled standing in elaborate armor and holding a small pagoda-form object. Decorated in traditional sancai-style glazes of amber, green, cream, blue and brown, with expressive faces, helmets and richly molded armor. Hollow pottery construction with unglazed interiors and bases. Incised or impressed markings are faintly visible to the underside/interior. Chinese, 20th century. Condition: Scattered glaze wear, firing irregularities, abrasions and minor chips. One figure appears to have areas along the underside/base that warrant inspection for old repairs or losses. See photographs. Dimensions: 19" Tall
