Large antique hand-hewn and worked wooden mechanical component, believed to be an early wagon wheel hub or related agricultural component, repurposed as a sculptural decorative object. Heavy timber construction with a swollen central section featuring multiple rectangular mortises, longitudinal tooling and extensive age-related checking. Presented horizontally on a later custom black metal display stand. Retains a weathered, untouched surface emphasizing the object's original utilitarian construction and transformation into found-object art. Condition: Extensive age checking, splits, abrasions, staining and surface wear consistent with an early utilitarian wooden component. Later display stand. See photographs. 22"x8"x13"
