This is a tall, narrow single-door armoire (a bonnetière) in the Louis XV Provincial manner. It has an arched "chapeau de gendarme" (bonnet-shaped) molded cornice over a frieze carved with a lattice heart flanked by trailing flowering vines. The door has two shaped panels with carved C-scrolls, acanthus, and floral sprays in low relief. Long iron fiche hinges and a tall pierced steel escutcheon run along the door edge, and the paneled sides are in a warm fruitwood finish with prominent figure and knots. Each Armoire is 35"x24"x79"
