This is a Chinese-style hall runner with a rich crimson field. Down its length are carved motifs: a small vase holding a flowering spray, and ruyi cloud-scroll medallions with pink blossoms at the corners. The ivory outer border is filled with peonies, blossoms, and leafy sprays in pink, rose, lavender, and green. The pile is hand-carved around the motifs, giving the sculpted relief typical of 1980s-90s Chinese "90-line" rugs, and there is white fringe on the ends. 102"x28"
