This is a monumental two-part breakfront display cabinet in the Chinoiserie taste. It is finished in black lacquer with wide bands of figured burl veneer (yew or amboyna type) and gilt line trim. The upper case has five tall glass doors with pierced brass escutcheons, one with a silk tassel, opening to glass shelves. The lower case has a row of drawers with brass bail pulls above cabinet doors painted with gilt Chinoiserie landscapes of pavilions, trees, and mountains. The end panels are decorated with gilt flowering plants in urns. It stands on a molded plinth base under a stepped cornice.
