LOT 271 - Alexandra Nechita (Romanian-American, b. 1985), Hand-Signed Color Lithograph, 1998, Numbered 219/2500, Framed
Description

This is a large, vibrant color lithograph by Alexandra Nechita, the Romanian-born American painter who gained international fame as a child prodigy, often called the "Petite Picasso" for her bold, Cubist-inspired compositions. On a deep cobalt and violet ground, fragmented, interlocking figures rise in a tall vertical arrangement: an elongated pink-legged central figure, an angular golden limb sweeping in from the left, and stacked mask-like faces in red, saffron, and gray. Small bird-like and grinning figures are tucked throughout. Nechita's characteristic crosshatched textures, heavy black contour lines, and saturated color give the composition rhythm and energy. It is hand-signed and numbered 219/2500, dated 1998, and presented under glass in a frame measuring 36" x 41". Edition: 219/2500 Date: 1998 Framed size: 36" x 41" (frame dimensions).
