This carved hardwood pedestal plant stand is in the Chinese export style, finished in a warm reddish-brown rosewood tone. The shaped top has a molded edge and holds an inset round marble panel with variegated rose, cream, and ochre veining. Below the top, the aprons have pierced carving at the center of each side, with scrolled cutwork and a central carved motif. The four slender cabriole legs have carved knuckle details and end in scrolled pad feet. They are joined by an X-form cross stretcher with a turned central finial. The stand is well suited to displaying a potted plant, a sculpture, or a vase.
