This detailed wildlife print by Alaskan artist Terry Pyles shows a North Pacific seabird colony on a rocky sea cliff, composed in a tall vertical format. A pair of horned puffins, a species found in the North Pacific, perches among tufts of grass at the top. Below them are several other seabirds and shorebirds on the rocks, among them a black oystercatcher with its bright orange bill, a pigeon guillemot with a white wing patch and red feet, and a black-and-white murre, with a small seabird swimming in the tidepool at the base. Pyles is an Alaskan painter and sculptor whose work depicts the sights and scenery of the state. He is associated with Ketchikan, where he has collaborated with fellow artist Ray Troll. The print bears a plate signature and copyright reading "© Terry Pyles 1989," and is hand signed and numbered in gold ink at lower left within the image. It's presented under glass in a gray-washed wood frame with a gray mat and green inner fillet. It would be a great piece for a birder, a nature lover, or anyone with ties to Alaska. Please see photos for condition. Framed size: 16" x 33" (frame dimensions).
