Mrs. Kingen was a longtime and active Hancock County Resident
Phyllis was a homemaker and helped with the family farm. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Greenfield where she was a member of the Mary Martha Guild.
She participated in the Pioneer Village at the Indiana State Fair and received a lifetime pass to the State Fair. She was also involved in the Hancock County Pioneer Building
and in 2023 the building was dedicated and renamed the Don and Phyllis Kingen Pioneer Building. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and planting trees. She was a past Girl Scout and 4H Leader.
